A Tale of Two Summits: Weight Loss & Diabetes

I’m delighted to announce I’m a part of two upcoming summits: The Total Fat Loss Solution and The Diabetes Summit. Obesity and diabetes are conditions I’ve been thinking about a great deal in the last year, and also conditions we’ve had great results fighting at the Perfect Health Retreats. So I’m happy to be able to speak about them to a wider audience.

The 11-day 30-presentation Total Fat Loss Solution hosted by Katherine Watkins features me, Dr. Datis Kharrazian, Sarah Ballantyne, Amber “GoKaleo” Rogers, Dr. Johnny Bowden, and many others. There are free presentations each day from April 28 through May 8. My presentation is on the first day, April 28. That’s Monday!

The 12-day 50-presentation Diabetes Summit hosted by Dr. Brian Mowll and Jimmy Moore features me, Dr. Mark Hyman, Dr. David Perlmutter, JJ Virgin, Chris Kresser, Mark Sisson, Jenny Ruhl, and many others. There are free presentations each day from May 5 through May 16. Mine will be the keynote presentation on Tuesday, May 13.

Incidentally, I’ve written an ebook on how to lose weight healthfully, and that will be offered as a free giveaway to those signing up for our newsletter, which is coming soon. Keep an eye out for it!

  1. Especially the diabetes summit is very interesting for me. My Grandmother has diabetes and I want to know everything about it to help her in the best way possibly. How much are the cost for the participation of this summit?

    • Hi Jens,

It is free if you listen the day the talks come out. After the summit concludes, you have to pay to get a complete download of all the talks. If you click through to the site you should be able to find a price.

  2. Would you recommend the daily 16 hour fast for a breastfeeding mom? I only breastfeed in the night, and I find it very hard somedays to continue the fast for more than 12 hours. I experience the very familiar irritability resluting from hypoglycemia. Granted I have not completely converted to the PHD but I’m doing as much as I can.

    • I think I found the answer to my question!

I somehow missed the recommendation to have coffee with cream and coconut oil in the morning.

Since I don’t drink coffee right now, I think I can have cream and coconut oil in the morning, or coconut oil alone. I’m hoping it would work, and I will reply here if I have issues.

    • Try adding a dessert of fruit/berries/dark chocolate/warm milk with honey at the end of your feeding window, and coffee with coconut milk or some similar low-calorie beverage during the morning fast — possibly bone broth with vegetable soup, or tea. You may need more carbs during the feeding window as well.

      • Thanks, I think the carbs might be the answer since I’m breastfeeding. On days I had rice around 2-3 times a day, I did not feel hungry the next morning. I will do the dessert at night and coconut milk in the morning as well.

  3. Hi Paul,
I just listened to your talk twice it was excellent. I wanted to ask about the exercise. I have asthma so it is difficult for me to do high intensity exercise, do you have any recommendations for people who can’t do it? I have your book and have been following it. I am having struggles losing weight. I am 55, post-menopausal, and gluten intolerant. The talk helped me see some things I can tweak. I am concerned about the exercise though. Thank you so much. I am so sorry to hear about Seth.
