Angiex – good news coming for cancer patients

Hi everyone,

Bret asked in the comments whether Angiex’s drug AGX101 works for Stage 4 lung cancer patients. AGX101 is in Phase 1 clinical trials and we still have a lot to learn about it. But early results are very promising. I thought I’d copy my answer here. Let me know if there is interest from PHD readers for a webinar to learn more.

Hi Bret,

Yes. AGX101 has potent on-tumor activity against all solid cancers, and so far our best results have been in lung tumors. We’ve dosed 38 patients total and 13 have had lung tumors as target lesions. The number of lung tumors treated is 24 target lesions (i.e. measured in size by the radiologist) and a similar number of non-target lesions. To date those have been metastases from other cancers rather than primary tumors, but it doesn’t really matter whether the tumors are primary or metastatic, they respond the same.

Here is an example. This is a fused PET-CT image with CT on the gray scale and PET in color.

The way our drug works is to attack both the tumor blood vessels and the tumor cells. Eliminating the blood vessels generates a coagulative necrosis that heals by scarring, while killing the tumor cells reduces metabolic activity and prevents spread of any tumor cells out of the tumor. As a result, the “success signal” is stable lesion size on CT with reduction in metabolic activity on FDG-PET. You see that success signal achieved in the linked image.

We believe that at the optimal dosing regimen we may achieve this success signal in most tumors of most solid cancer patients. We’re homing in on that dosing regimen now.

You can write me at one of the emails on the Angiex contact page, https://angiex.com/contact, for more information.

Best, Paul

  1. Dear Paul,

Every single day, I continue to pray for you, your wife, and your entire team, and for a future in which no one has to lose their life to cancer anymore.

I can’t tell you how happy it makes me to read every new update about AGX101. I follow your progress with great interest and hope with all my heart that God will bless your work and that one day your drug will be able to successfully treat every form of cancer and save countless lives.

I have the deepest respect and gratitude for everything you, your wife, and your team have accomplished. You have dedicated so much of your lives to helping others, and I truly believe that no words could ever adequately express the appreciation you deserve.

I would absolutely love to attend a webinar and learn more about your work. Unfortunately, I live in Germany and my work schedule doesn’t allow me much flexibility, so I may not be able to attend live. But I would be incredibly grateful if a recording could be made available afterward.

Please know that your work means so much to people all around the world, including me here in Germany. I will continue to follow your journey, pray for your success, and hope that your efforts will bring healing and hope to countless families.

Thank you, Paul, from the bottom of my heart. May God bless you, your wife, your entire team, and everyone involved in this extraordinary mission.

With my deepest gratitude and respect,

    Marvin
