Merry Christmas!

We have much to be merry about this Christmas – our family, our readers, and the hope that our new edition will help many achieve good health in the new year – and, of course, the rose that comes amid the winter.

The marvel of Christmas is that God should come to us as a baby; and a baby bereft of resources – born in a manger, amid animals and manure.

William Adolph Bouguereau, a detail of the painting called “L’innocence.”

Perhaps the merriest news that Christmas brings is that no one is alone. Emmanuel – “God is with us” – comes.

Please, enjoy a merry and blessed Christmas!

  1. Merry Christmas to you as well.

I want to tell you, your book has been my go-to gift this season. Have a great holiday!

    Alex

  2. Thanks Paul! Merry Christmas!

  3. Oh wow… You bring back such memories! That first video you posted, of ‘Lo how a rose’, has my brother in it! He was in the American Boychoir back in the day- he’s actually in the screenshot you posted. The blonde curly haired cherub in front of Frederica von Stade! They used to play this on PBS every year and without fail a neighbor would call and tell us he was on TV!

Thanks for the memories, and Merry Christmas!

  4. Merry Christmas! Thank you so much for all you do.

  5. Just wanted to wish you and yours the merriest of Christmases Paul. I just enjoyed our family tradition of homemade waffles, whipped cream and berries in PHD fashion and it was delicious and comforting knowing it was part of a healthy diet:)
For anyone looking rice flour waffles and amazing, much better than regular flour. May God bless you for all the good you are doing and lives you are helping to restore. Merry Christmas:)

  6. Thank you Paul & Shou-Ching for the beautiful Christmas message! Our Blessed Lord is born in our hearts today! May God bless you both and all of your loved ones!

  7. A very merry Christmas and New Year to you both! On my second read of the new book on Kindle. Taking my Chiropractic-student husband through it this time. May the Lord bless you and keep you, and make His face to shine upon you in 2013!

  8. Merry Christmas to you both and many thanks for all that you do!

  9. Shou-Ching-Do you have children? If yes, how did the “Perfect Health Diet” work out for you during your pregnancy? Did you or your baby(ies) experience any health challenges during the pregnancy or thereafter?

    • Hi Stephanie,

We haven’t gone through pregnancy ourselves since developing the diet, but a number of readers have and all of the reports we’ve received are of comfortable, successful pregnancies (ie no gestational diabetes, less sickness/discomfort than in prior pregnancies, recovery of normal weight after pregnancy, healthy babies).

    • Hi Stephanie! Just wanted to jump in to say that I am pregnant with my sixth child, and have been following the PHD for this pregnancy. The results have been amazing. In fact, with all five of my previous pregnancies I had debilitating, severe morning sickness. On the PHD, I had almost none! I wrote about it more here if you have any interest.

  10. Hi Paul, my Christmas has been filled with reading your new book in my down time! Great stuff. I’ve been dying to ask your opinion on juicing vegetables. It’s something I’ve been doing for a month or so and it seems to have a nice effect. But I’d love your thoughts on it. Note, I only occasionally use fruit; it’s mostly all veggies.

    • Hi Heather,

I think it’s fine to juice vegetables; it’s a good way to get more of them.

We have no fixed recommendation for amount of vegetables to eat, since there is rather little evidence one way or the other as to how much is best, but if you feel good with lots of vegetables, that’s a good sign.

We tried juicing for a while but it seemed a lot of work cleaning and we got tired of it.

  11. I received your book for Christmas and came to your website looking for citations. Not only did I find a thorough citation list (with links included) I found this blessing of a post. I hope you and your family had a Merry Christmas.
    God Bless,
    The Willetts

  12. Paul & Shou-Ching; I got your book the day before Christmas and haven’t been able to put it down. I also recently read “Live Young Forever” by Jack LaLanne–too bad he didn’t have your book in the 60’s, he may still be with us.

I’m doing one of my famous ‘potato reset’ diets through New Year’s and then it’s on to a one-year run of PHD.

    Thanks!

  13. I’m confused, how does evolution and God the creator of all things go together, the same God that became flesh and died for us?
